Select artists across SSO Artists Entertainment, LLC now have access to Spotify’s limited full-length video upload beta through Spotify for Artists, giving participating artist teams new ways to bring official video content directly into the Spotify ecosystem.
The feature allows eligible artists to upload full-length video content directly through Spotify for Artists, including:
- Official music videos
- Live performances
- Acoustic performances
- Studio sessions
- Covers
Unlike traditional video delivery through a label or distributor, participating artists can upload qualifying video content directly from their Spotify for Artists team.
Access remains selective.
Spotify introduced direct full-length video uploads in June 2026 as a limited beta for tens of thousands of artists and has continued expanding the program throughout the year. Spotify later reported that nearly 100,000 artists had gained access to the beta.
Artists who do not currently have access are instead directed to join Spotify’s waitlist.
For SSO, this means access can vary across the roster. Select SSO artists currently have the full Video & Visuals upload experience available, while other artist teams may not yet have the same functionality.
Video Is Becoming a Bigger Part of Spotify
Spotify is increasingly integrating video directly into the music listening experience.
Eligible uploads can appear across Spotify surfaces including:
- Artist profiles
- Release pages
- The Now Playing experience
- Personalized video recommendations
- Editorial video playlists
- Home
- Fan push notifications
Official music videos and live performances may also be eligible for editorial pitching.
Spotify has reported that after listeners watch a video on the platform, they stream the associated song 64% more often over the following three weeks on average. Those listeners also stream the artist’s broader catalog 57% more during the same period.
Full-length videos longer than 30 seconds can also be royalty-bearing and may be eligible for Spotify charts.
2026 Wrapped Creates Another Opportunity for Video
With Spotify Wrapped 2026 approaching, video is also becoming part of Spotify’s year-end fan experience.
Participating artists now have two major opportunities to appear visually in Wrapped.
Live Performances for Your Top Songs 2026
For the first time, qualifying live performance videos have the opportunity to appear alongside music in fans’ Your Top Songs 2026 playlists.
Artists with access to Spotify’s full-length video upload tools can submit a landscape live performance connected to a song in their catalog.
Eligible content can include:
- Tour performances
- Acoustic performances
- Live studio sessions
- Other qualifying live versions of a song
Spotify has set a November 6, 2026 deadline for eligible videos to be considered for the Wrapped experience.
Once uploaded, the full-length performance can go live on the artist’s Spotify profile immediately while also becoming eligible for potential inclusion within 2026 Wrapped.
For artists already participating in Spotify’s video beta, this creates a direct connection between full-length video publishing and one of Spotify’s largest annual fan engagement moments.
Artist Messages Return for Wrapped 2026
Spotify is also giving artists the opportunity to record a short Artist Message for their biggest fans.
Beginning October 6 at 11:00 AM ET, artists can upload a video message through Spotify for Artists for the opportunity to appear within fans’ personalized 2026 Wrapped experiences.
Artist Messages can be up to 30 seconds and may include:
- A thank-you to fans
- A major milestone from 2026
- Reflections on the artist’s music journey
- A memorable release or performance
- A preview of what the artist is preparing for 2027
Spotify’s support documentation says all artists can submit an Artist Message by November 6 for the chance to be included in the experience.
This is separate from the more selective full-length video upload beta. While Wrapped Artist Messages are broadly available, direct uploads of full-length official videos, performances, sessions, and covers remain restricted to eligible Spotify for Artists teams.
What This Means for SSO Artists
For participating SSO artists, the expansion creates an increasingly direct pipeline between an artist’s music, visual identity, and Spotify audience.
Eligible SSO artist teams can now use the platform not only to manage releases and audience analytics, but also to publish full-length visual content directly to Spotify and potentially integrate qualifying performances into Wrapped.
SSO will continue monitoring availability across its roster as Spotify expands the beta to additional artist teams.
Artists currently seeing the Video & Visuals section with full-length upload functionality in Spotify for Artists are encouraged to begin preparing qualifying visual assets ahead of the November 6 Wrapped deadline.
